Petit Jean Electric Cooperative says one of its crews will head to Southeast Alabama to assist with power restoration efforts following damage caused by Hurricane Isaias.
In a Facebook post, the cooperative said it is proud to answer the call when fellow cooperatives need help.
Petit Jean Electric described the mission as the cooperative spirit in action, with neighbors helping neighbors no matter how many miles may separate them.
The cooperative asked supporters to join in wishing the crew safe travels and a safe return home as they work alongside others to restore electricity and help affected communities get back on their feet.
Mutual aid efforts like this are common among electric cooperatives, with crews often traveling across state lines to help restore power following major storms and natural disasters.
