A Cabot child exploitation arrest has led to more than 200 felony counts against a Cabot man, according to the Cabot Police Department.

Mark Czerwonka was taken into custody Oct. 21 after detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Talladega Drive. He now faces additional charges, including 187 counts of video voyeurism, police said.

The investigation began Sept. 24, when Cabot Police detectives assigned to the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a cyber tip about the uploading of images involving apparent child sexual abuse material. Investigators determined the offenses occurred inside the Cabot city limits.

During the Oct. 21 search, several electronic devices were seized. Police said an on-site preview revealed 20 images of suspected child sexual abuse material. Based on that evidence, Czerwonka was arrested on approximately 20 counts of Distributing, Possessing or Viewing Matter Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct Involving a Child, a Class C felony.

On Oct. 22, detectives began processing the devices and observed videos that police said constituted video voyeurism. Detectives secured a 2nd search warrant for the Talladega Drive residence and seized more electronic devices.

That same day, Czerwonka was taken back into custody as he was being released on bond from the Lonoke County Detention Center on the charges from his Oct. 21 arrest.

An affidavit was then issued against Czerwonka for 187 counts of Video Voyeurism, a Class C felony, and 3 counts of Producing, Directing or Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class Y felony.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and could result in additional charges.

Criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
