A 27-year-old man faces felony and traffic-related charges after a reported high-speed pursuit ended with a car crashing into Searcy Mart early Sunday morning.
Ryan Calnan was booked into the White County Detention Center on September 6, 2026, following an arrest by the Bald Knob Police Department.
The booking came after a pursuit involving the Bald Knob Police Department and White County Sheriff’s Office reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before ending in Searcy.
PURSUIT BEGAN WITH BALD KNOB POLICE
According to information provided by the Searcy Police Department, officers were notified around 3 a.m. that Bald Knob police were pursuing a white 2026 Honda Civic into Searcy.
Police said the vehicle was reportedly traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
The Bald Knob Police Department initiated the pursuit before the vehicle entered Searcy. The White County Sheriff’s Office also participated.
A White County sheriff’s deputy deployed spike strips near the Whataburger restaurant on Race Avenue.
The Honda continued west on Race Avenue and eventually lost 3 tires.
VEHICLE CRASHED INTO SEARCY MART
Police said the driver reached the intersection of Race Avenue and North Maple Street but was unable to negotiate the turn.
The vehicle crashed into Searcy Mart at 401 North Maple Street, causing considerable damage to the convenience store.
The driver was identified as Ryan Calnan, 27, of Massachusetts.
Calnan was transported by NorthStar EMS to Unity Health for medical treatment. His medical condition was not released in the original report.
White County booking records show that Calnan was subsequently booked into the county detention center on September 6.
FELONY AND TRAFFIC CHARGES LISTED
The White County booking record lists charges of fleeing by vehicle or conveyance with extreme indifference and first-degree criminal mischief involving alleged damage exceeding $25,000.
