The Ward Fire Department announced the addition of an unmanned aerial vehicle, dubbed Eagle 1, to improve situational awareness and safety during fires, rescues, and disasters, marking a significant upgrade to its response capabilities.
Ward Fire Department Deploys New Drone
The department has acquired a UAV, commonly referred to as a drone, to augment its emergency response toolkit. The aircraft is identified by the call sign Eagle 1. The acquisition was announced in a media release on September 16, 2026.
