A serious traffic incident jolted Fayetteville this morning, prompting an immediate response from local emergency services. The sudden collision sparked concern among residents and commuters alike.
The Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3000 block of W. Telluride Drive where a vehicle collided with an apartment awning. Firefighters secured the damaged awning, treated an adult male driver with minor injuries, and the area was closed for public safety.
Vehicle Crashes Into Apartment Awning on W. Telluride Drive
When crews arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the awning of an apartment building in the 3000 block of W. Telluride Drive. The impact had caused noticeable damage to the awning structure.
Firefighters worked to secure the damaged awning and removed an adult male from the vehicle. Trained personnel in Structural Collapse Response used two double T supports and one single T support to stabilize the awning.
The driver was treated at the scene by firefighters and Central EMS for minor injuries. After treatment, he was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The area has been blocked off for public safety and will remain closed until the structure can be safely removed. It is not yet known when the awning can be fully cleared.
