Residents of Conway braced for unexpected nighttime traffic disruptions as city crews prepared to overhaul a key intersection.
Crews will begin installing new traffic signal equipment at Oak Street and East German Lane at 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, requiring lane closures and a dark signal for three to four hours. Conway Police will be on site to direct traffic, and the signal is expected to be fully operational by Friday morning.
Nighttime Signal Installation Requires Lane Closures
The installation work is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, and is expected to last three to four hours. Crews will replace the existing traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Oak Street and East German Lane.
During the installation, the traffic signal will be completely dark, and lane closures will be required while crews work over the roadway. Conway Police will be on site to direct traffic and ensure safety.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible, use caution, and expect delays. The goal is to have the new traffic signal fully operational by Friday morning.
