A new traffic control measure has just been introduced in Bentonville, catching the attention of commuters across the city.
The City of Bentonville Arkansas announced a new traffic signal at the intersection of E Central Ave and McCollum Rd, slated to operate in flash mode starting Thursday, September 10, before switching to normal operation on September 16.
New signal installation on E Central Ave and McCollum Rd
The signal will begin flashing at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, according to the city’s traffic update. E Central Ave will display a flashing yellow light, while McCollum Rd will show a flashing red light. This temporary mode is intended to give drivers time to adjust.
Motorists are urged to use extra caution when approaching the intersection during the flash period. The city advises paying close attention to the new signal’s indications. The flashing signals differ from the usual steady lights drivers normally encounter.
The flash mode will remain in effect until Wednesday, September 16, when the signal will transition to normal operation. At that point, the lights will function in the standard red‑yellow‑green cycle. The change is part of the city’s plan to improve traffic flow at the busy junction.
For additional information, drivers can contact the Bentonville Street Department at (479) 271‑3130. The department handles questions related to the new signal and its schedule. No further details about future signal upgrades were provided.
