White County officials will celebrate the opening of the new White County Shooting Range with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Aug. 20.

The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at the new facility located at 193 Bailey Street in Searcy.
Construction documents identify the project as the White County Sheriff’s Office Firing Range. Plans for the facility included an earthen berm, sidewalks, an awning covering the firing area, defensive barriers and associated earthwork.
The ribbon cutting is listed on White County’s official events calendar and will be held before the regular August meeting of the White County Quorum Court.
The Quorum Court meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the White County Justice Center, located at 2121 South Benton Avenue in Searcy.
The ribbon cutting and Quorum Court meeting will be held at separate locations. Those attending both events should first report to the shooting range at 193 Bailey Street for the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The White County Shooting Range project was developed to provide a dedicated firing and training facility for the White County Sheriff’s Office.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the formal completion and opening of the facility following the construction process.
