Mountain View is remembering longtime businesswoman Bernice Altman, who passed away Saturday, August 22, at age 80.
Altman was born September 16, 1945, in Fifty Six to the late Lyle Franks and Lillie Cantrell Franks.
Her family described her as a remarkable woman whose life was defined by hard work, Christian faith, kindness and dedication to her family and community.
For 50 years, Altman and her husband, J.T., worked side by side in the car dealership business. Together, they built a successful business and lasting relationships with the customers and community they served.
Altman was known for her serious and professional approach to business, along with her friendly, helpful and gracious nature.
Her family said her quiet strength, integrity and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on the people who knew her.
She treasured her Christian faith and her church family.
Altman is survived by her children, Jeffery, Natalie and Liz; her sister, Iva Brooks; her brother, Steve Franks; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Lillie Franks; her brother, James Franks; and her husband, J.T. Altman.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
Pallbearers are Mike Brooks, Steve Franks, Alex Franks, Jason Thieme, Lance Hankins and Gary Nelson.

Altman will be remembered by her family, church family, friends, former customers and the Mountain View community for her faith, perseverance, kindness and lifetime of service to others.
