Grill masters from across the region will fire up their cookers this Saturday, July 18, as the inaugural Trenton Morgan Memorial Steak and Chicken Wing Cook Off comes to Cave City Park.
Presented by the Cave City Watermelon Festival, the competition will feature registered teams competing for top honors, prizes, and bragging rights while raising money for a worthy cause. Organizers say every dollar raised during the event will benefit the Cave City Watermelon Festival’s Next Generation Scholarship Program, helping local students pursue higher education.
The competition runs from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will feature community teams representing local businesses, organizations, and emergency responders.
Festival Director Amy Finster says the event is designed to bring the community together while honoring the memory of Trenton Morgan.
“Come watch local teams, including Farco, the Cave City Fire Department, Peaco, and many other community partners and friends compete to see who can cook the best ribeye and chicken wings in town. This competition runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
While the cookoff is for registered teams only, everyone is invited to come out, watch the action, cheer on the competitors, and enjoy a great day supporting a wonderful community event. We’ll see you this Saturday at Cave City Park for the first annual Trenton Morgan Memorial Steak and Chicken Wing Cookoff. See you there!”
Although the cooking competition is limited to registered teams, spectators are encouraged to attend throughout the day to enjoy the atmosphere, cheer on competitors, and support scholarship fundraising efforts.
Organizers hope the inaugural event becomes an annual tradition celebrating community spirit while investing in the future of local students through educational scholarships.
