The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) reports Arkansas revenues continued to outperform expectations in May 2026, with net available general revenues totaling $491.5 million for the month.

According to the May 2026 General Revenue Report released Tuesday, revenues finished $10.1 million, or 2.1 percent, above forecast and were up $52.1 million compared to May 2025.

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) also reported year-to-date net available general revenues totaled $6.36 billion through the first 11 months of Fiscal Year 2026, which is $456.8 million higher than the same period last year.

Officials say strong individual income tax and sales tax collections helped drive the increase.

Individual income tax collections rose 9.6 percent in May compared to last year, totaling $254.1 million. Sales and use tax collections increased 4.5 percent for the month, totaling $315 million.

The report also noted Arkansas issued fewer income tax refunds compared to last year, contributing to stronger overall revenue performance.

The official revenue forecast was revised May 20 and now projects a year-end surplus of approximately $585.8 million.

The Educational Adequacy Fund collected $81.5 million during May 2026 to help support Arkansas public education obligations statewide.
