A multi-agency search is underway after 2 kayakers were reported missing on the Strawberry River early Friday morning.
According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are working alongside the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office to locate Danny Moran, 72, and Megan Moran, 40.
Authorities say the pair launched their kayaks from Horseshoe Bend on June 25, 2026, and were expected to arrive in Evening Shade. They were reported missing at approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 26 after failing to reach their destination.
Danny Moran was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, yellow life vest, and kayak cargo shorts. Megan Moran was last seen wearing a purple tank top, brown skirt, and a blue life vest.
Officials say 1 kayak is gray, while the other is orange and white.
