A months-long investigation led to the arrest of a Batesville man Wednesday on allegations involving child sexual abuse material.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Larry Corter of Batesville is being held in the Independence County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. Corter faces 5 counts of pandering or possessing visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony.
The investigation began in January after Facebook reportedly alerted the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children hotline about alleged child sexual abuse material being posted by a user on its platform.
Detective Brenda Bittle with the Batesville Police Department reviewed the reported material and later obtained search warrants for Corter’s Meta Platform accounts, including Instagram.
Authorities said investigators discovered several sexually explicit images involving boys between the ages of 6 and 12, along with conversations allegedly shared with underage males.
The investigation remains ongoing.
