ArkansasRadio.com’s Bob Connell sat down with White River Health Administrator and CEO Stephen Webb to discuss the ongoing impact of the health system’s change to out of network status with UnitedHealthcare.
Beginning April 1, 2026, White River Health hospitals and facility-based services are no longer in network for UnitedHealthcare commercial and Medicare Advantage plans after contract negotiations failed.
During the interview, Webb emphasized the organization’s commitment to patients across Batesville Arkansas and North Central Arkansas, while acknowledging the challenges this change presents for families navigating healthcare coverage.

Webb explained that while hospital services are now out of network, physicians and routine office visits remain in network at this time, helping maintain continuity for many patients.

⚠️ What Patients Need to Know
Patients with UnitedHealthcare plans may experience:
Higher out-of-pocket costs for hospital services
Changes in billing for facility-based care
However, some groups remain unaffected, including:
Arkansas state retirees
Teachers
VA patients
📅 Continuity of Care Deadline
Patients undergoing active treatment, managing chronic conditions, or who are pregnant may qualify for Continuity of Care.
