Lyon College is preparing to welcome its newest class of students during its annual Lyon Launch Accepted Student Days set for April 24 and May 1.
The events will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., beginning with check-in at 10 a.m. in the Maxfield Room on the first floor of Edwards Commons, located on campus at 2300 Highland Road in Batesville.
Lyon Launch is designed to give newly admitted students and their families a first-hand look at campus life. Attendees will tour the campus, meet faculty and staff, connect with current students and alumni, and take part in student life activities.
Participants will also have the opportunity to sit in on classes across a variety of disciplines, helping them better understand academic offerings and expectations.
Tommy Newton, vice president for enrollment services, says the event is about more than just a visit.
“This is more than a visit. It’s a celebration of each student’s admission and a first step toward launching their college journey,” Newton said.
College officials say Lyon Launch plays an important role in helping students visualize their future while also highlighting the school’s focus on student success and long-term outcomes.
