3 England Arkansas High School Students Face Charges After Basketball Brawl

Charges are now pending against 3 England High School students following a large post-game brawl involving Barton High School players after a recent 2A Tournament basketball game.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 2 students are facing misdemeanor charges of 2nd Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct. A 3rd student is facing additional misdemeanor charges including 2nd Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Riot.

Authorities confirmed that 2 of the students have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The altercation reportedly broke out immediately after the final buzzer, when tensions escalated and players and fans from both teams rushed the court, leading to a chaotic scene.

In the aftermath, officials ejected 7 England players and 5 Barton players from the game.

Grant County officials say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be possible as authorities continue reviewing the incident more than 1 month after the fight occurred.

School officials and law enforcement continue to stress the importance of sportsmanship and safety at school athletic events.
