The Optimist Club of Searcy is celebrating 60 years of dedicated service to the community, marking six decades of volunteerism focused on supporting and encouraging young people across White County.

During a recent recognition ceremony, Searcy Mayor Mat Faulkner issued an official proclamation honoring the club’s 60-year milestone and its longstanding commitment to community service.
L.V. Wilson, Treasurer and Secretary of the Optimist Club of Searcy, recently joined Bob Connell on Open Mic to reflect on the organization’s history and impact. The club is widely recognized for operating the fundraising concession stand at the White County Fair each year, but members contribute to local service projects throughout the year.
The Optimist Club of Searcy meets every Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. at the Country Kitchen in Kensett and welcomes new members interested in making a difference.
