An Oil Trough man has been arrested following an Oil Trough man sexual assault arrest investigation involving allegations of abuse against a child under the age of 14.

According to the Independence County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Travis Andrew Matlock was taken into custody and is being held at the Independence County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. A judge found probable cause to charge him with second-degree sexual assault, a Class B felony.
Court documents state the sheriff’s office received information on December 8, 2025, from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division regarding possible sexual contact.
During a forensic interview conducted with the child’s mother present, Lt. Zach Rawlins reported the child described waking up to Matlock performing a sexual act. The child reportedly stated the incident occurred twice in October.
On February 13, Independence County District Court Judge Chaney Taylor issued a warrant for Matlock’s arrest. Online records show he was booked into jail at 5:21 p.m. February 18 and is scheduled to appear in circuit court February 24.
If convicted, Matlock could face 5 to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and fines up to $15,000. The investigation remains ongoing.
