A Harding Academy eighth-grade student is heading back to the Arkansas State Spelling Bee after capturing first place at the White County Spelling Bee for the third time.

Daksh Schling earned this year’s championship with the winning word “contiguous,” correctly spelled C-O-N-T-I-G-U-O-U-S, meaning joined together in one continuous way.
This is Schling’s third county spelling bee title and his second straight trip back to the state-level competition. Last year, he advanced to the state spelling bee and finished fourth overall against top student spellers from across Arkansas.
With another county championship secured, Schling will once again represent Harding Academy and White County at the state spelling bee scheduled for March.
School officials and supporters say the repeat victory highlights his dedication, preparation, and academic excellence in language studies.
