White River Health has announced the appointment of David Fox, FACHE, FAHRA, as Vice President and Administrator of Stone County Medical Center, effective January 5, 2026.

Fox most recently served as Executive Vice President of Hospital Operations at Summit Management Group and brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership, hospital operations, and strategic planning. He also has hands-on clinical experience, having worked in both laboratory and radiology settings.
Fox earned a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Arkansas. He completed his clinical training at the Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine and is credentialed as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators, and is active with the Arkansas Hospital Association and the ACHE Board, along with numerous community organizations.
White River Health President and CEO Steven Webb said Fox’s leadership will build on the strong foundation already in place at Stone County Medical Center and support continued growth across the region.
Current SCMC Administrator Kathy Thomas will retire in December 2026 and will continue serving during the transition while remaining in her role as Chief Safety Officer.
White River Health is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare system serving North Central Arkansas, including White River Medical Center in Batesville, Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, outpatient clinics, and physician practices.
