North Little Rock officer-involved shooting

The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in North Little Rock.

According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:54 a.m. on January 6, 2026, to the 500 block of West A Avenue following reports of a person firing a gun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual. During the encounter, multiple officers discharged their service weapons.

The individual was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured, and police report no injuries to any other individuals.

Detectives with the North Little Rock Police Department responded to initiate an investigation, which remains in its preliminary stages. Authorities say additional details are still being collected as the investigation continues.

In accordance with department policy, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the NLRPD Tip Line at 501-680-8439 or Detective Coburn at 501-771-7155. Callers may remain anonymous.

Officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
