Lyon College has announced the appointment of Emily Dyer as director of academic support and accessibility services, effective Jan. 2, according to Executive Vice President and Provost Kurt Grafton.

Dyer has served in leadership roles within Academic Support and Advising since 2022, most recently as student success assistant and transfer adviser, where she supported Morrow Academic Center programming and student services. She previously worked as tutor coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services at Ozarka College.

A Southside High School graduate and first-generation college student, Dyer is a Batesville native. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Lyon College and a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University. Dyer’s connection to Lyon began in 2011 through the Apple Project Upward Bound program before enrolling as a student from 2015–2019.

“I am passionate about helping people, and through the Morrow Academic Center, students receive support and care,” Dyer said. “Academic success is something every student should be able to reasonably achieve.”

Dr. Grafton said Dyer’s experience as both a student and staff member positions her to make a meaningful impact on student success at Lyon College.
