A Harrison man has been sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges in connection with a 2023 Boone County murder.
Donald Calderwood Jr., 31, pleaded guilty Monday in Boone County Circuit Court to First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Residential Burglary, and Theft of Property in the death of Dale Eugene McEntire, 63, of Bellefonte.

Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division agents developed Calderwood as a suspect after the Boone County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance when McEntire was found dead in his home on June 26, 2023.
Calderwood was arrested two days later, on June 28, 2023, by Arkansas State Police troopers working alongside Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Authorities say the guilty plea brings closure to a case that began with a welfare check and led to a multi-agency homicide investigation in Boone County.
