City of Maumelle Named 2025 Volunteer Community of the Year at Arkansas Municipal League Conference

January 17, 2026 , News Staff , Comments Off on City of Maumelle Named 2025 Volunteer Community of the Year at Arkansas Municipal League Conference

The City of Maumelle has been named the 2025 Volunteer Community of the Year, earning statewide recognition for exceptional citizen engagement, community-led service initiatives, and impactful local projects.

The award was presented during the Arkansas Municipal League Winter Conference and is co-sponsored by the Governor’s Advisory Commission on National Service and Volunteerism — also known as Engage Arkansas — along with the Arkansas Municipal League. The honor recognizes municipalities that address community needs through city-led volunteer and civic engagement programs.

Maumelle received the “Best City” designation after demonstrating outstanding citywide volunteer participation, highlighted by the city’s innovative Community Partners Initiative, or CPI. The program unites more than 40 local organizations under municipal leadership to coordinate volunteer efforts, reduce duplication of services, and better meet community needs.

City officials say CPI promotes collaboration, creativity, and long-term sustainability through inclusive partnerships that strengthen quality of life, community pride, and volunteer excellence across Maumelle.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Mayor Caleb Norris. “Being named a Volunteer Community of the Year for the 18th time is a powerful reminder of who we are in Maumelle. Our residents show up, step up, and care deeply about this city and each other. This recognition belongs to every volunteer who gives their time and heart to make Maumelle such a special place.”

City leaders say the award reflects the dedication of volunteers, nonprofit partners, and civic organizations working together to create meaningful community impact.

Residents and organizations interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities in Maumelle can contact the city at cdunn@maumelle.org
