The Arkansas Hospitality Association (AHA) has announced that Alicia Payseno will serve as its next Chief Executive Officer, beginning January 5, 2026. Payseno currently serves as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Cabot and previously led the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce.

In Cabot, Payseno oversees commercial recruitment, business expansion, and community development initiatives that have contributed to the city’s rapid growth. She also plays active leadership roles with the Arkansas Economic Developers & Chamber Executives and the Arkansas Municipal League.

AHA board members say her strong background in economic development aligns closely with the needs of Arkansas’ hospitality sector, one of the state’s most influential economic drivers. Her experience in building business environments, forming strategic partnerships, and supporting member-driven organizations is expected to elevate AHA’s advocacy, workforce development, and statewide coordination.

“We are delighted to welcome Alicia as our new CEO,” said Gary Patel, AHA Board Chairman. “Her proven track record in strategic growth and her passion for the state’s potential are exactly what the association needs to drive the industry forward.”

AHA Board Member Jim Shamburger added, “Alicia has a contagious passion for the hospitality industry. Her proven success leading membership-based organizations will make her an effective leader for AHA.”

Payseno says her top priorities include expanding member value, strengthening advocacy, and building organizational capacity for long-term sustainability.

“The hospitality industry is at the heart of Arkansas’ local economies,” Payseno said. “Restaurants, hotels, and tourism are major employers and essential to the state’s quality of life. I’m honored to support the small business owners and workers who make this industry thrive.”

She holds the Professional Community & Economic Developer (PCED) certification and is a graduate of the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas.
