The Lyon College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host its annual “Furry Frenzy Toy Toss” on Tuesday, Nov. 18, during the Lyon men’s basketball game against East Texas Baptist University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Becknell Gymnasium on the Lyon College campus, located at 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.

Admission is free for anyone who brings a new stuffed animal to donate. After the Scots score their first point of the game, fans will toss their toys onto the court in a fun and festive display of community spirit. All collected toys will be donated to the Angel Tree project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Batesville, which supports local children during the holiday season.
This year’s event also features a campus-wide competition among Lyon’s athletic teams and Greek Life organizations to see who can donate the most stuffed animals.
“This is one of our favorite service traditions at Lyon because it brings so much joy to the campus and to the children who receive the toys,” said SAAC adviser Kortney Cunningham. “The moment when the court is filled with stuffed animals is always meaningful. It’s a celebration of generosity, teamwork and the true spirit of the season.”
All students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to take part in the event.
