Lyon College will present its annual musical celebration with the Christmas Concert and Tree Lighting at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in Sloan Auditorium of the Brown Fine Arts Building, located at 2300 Highland Rd.

This year’s concert will showcase all of the college’s performing ensembles, including the Gospel Choir, Chamber Choir, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. A special appearance by the White River Sinfonia, the regional community string orchestra, will add extra festive cheer. Vera Richardson, a student organist and political science major, will open the concert with Johann Pachelbel’s famous “Canon in D.”

Attendees can look forward to a lively program of seasonal favorites, traditional holiday selections, and an audience sing-along with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Choir.

Following the concert, guests are invited to the steps of the Brown Fine Arts Building for a tree-lighting ceremony and complimentary refreshments.

The event is free and open to the public, making it a perfect way for the community to celebrate the holiday season together.
