First Community Bank employees rallied together during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to support Arkansas Children’s Hospital, raising a record $18,050.46 to benefit the hospital’s cancer unit. Employees contributed $12,550.46, and the bank added $5,500, marking the highest total in the history of the bank’s annual fundraiser.

“We are so grateful for the generosity and creativity of our teams across the footprint,” said Mary Henderson, senior vice president and co-chair of the bank’s childhood cancer awareness committee. Henderson noted that the fundraiser included Blue Jean Fridays, a coins-for-cancer contest, a bake sale with a silent auction, and several branch-led initiatives.
“Our employees continue to inspire us,” said Boris Dover, president and chief operating officer. “Their passion for helping children and families in Arkansas is exactly what community banking is about, and we’re proud to amplify their impact with the bank’s contribution.”
The monthlong effort was coordinated by the bank’s childhood cancer awareness committee, consisting of Amanda Teague, Miyah Merced, Wendy Hurt, Lindy Hopper, and Nikki Bittle, led by Henderson and Pat Rutherford.
