According to case files, on November 14, 2024, Conway Police Officer Shelby Smith stopped Gardner’s red Dodge Charger for driving left of center. Gardner presented a Florida driver’s license and a temporary vehicle tag, which raised suspicions.
Upon inspection, the temporary tag was determined to be fraudulent, appearing to be made using an online template. Gardner claimed he purchased the tag from a friend but refused to provide further details .Investigations revealed Gardner’s license was suspended in both Arkansas and Florida. The vehicle was registered in Arkansas, not Florida, contradicting Gardner’s claims.
Detective J. Corret’s investigation confirmed the tag was not issued through Florida’s Electronic Temporary Registration System. An email from Auto Data Direct Inc. noted discrepancies, including missing verification text and improper formatting.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Collin Wall approved the forgery charge on March 9, 2025. A bench warrant was issued by the Faulkner County Circuit Court on April 11, 2025.Gardner was booked into custody at 2:00 a.m. on July 9, 2025, and is currently held without bond. The case awaits further proceedings in the Faulkner County Circuit Court.
