Eleven Arkansas cities, including Conway and Fort Smith, declared March 21 as ASPSF Day of Giving. Sponsored by Arvest, the 24-hour event featured online donations, a juggling challenge, and a festive stop at The Filling Station in North Little Rock.
ASPSF distributed a historic $786,000 in scholarships to 550 single parents this spring. Alongside financial aid, recipients attended workshops like the resume and interviewing session led by CEO Jenn Morehead in
Conway.
“Being a single parent creates resilience and strength,” said recipient Destiny Hall, a nursing student at Arkansas State University-Newport.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible generosity shown during the inaugural ASPSF Day of Giving,” stated ASPSF CEO Jenn Morehead.
Every dollar raised helps single parents break the cycle of poverty through education.
