Some disturbing allegations in Conway, Arkansas
A Conway man, Thomas Aaron Sample, was arrested on March 7, 2025, after police say he allegedly broke into CPC Commodities to steal food. Police reportedly caught the 37-year-old inside the building holding a fruit cup and crackers, claiming he just wanted to “get out of the wind.” But authorities say they have also found him with stolen credit cards in the past.
Police Say Conway Man Linked To Multiple Theft Incidents
Officer Samuel McCormack responded to a burglary in progress at 775 Equity Ave around 11 p.m. He found broken locks and heard a tool drop before discovering Sample inside with stolen items.
Sample faces charges of commercial burglary, criminal mischief, and theft of property. As a habitual offender with four or more prior felonies, he was taken into custody and transported to jail.
This isn’t Sample’s first run-in with the law in Faulkner County. Back on October 30, 2024, he was arrested near a Kum & Go gas station after police reportedly found stolen credit cards in his wallet.
Officers L. Leija and Pieper stopped Sample and a female companion for riding bikes without lights near Oak and Ingram Streets. During a consensual encounter, they identified Sample and discovered he was a parolee with a search waiver.
A search of Sample’s wallet reportedly revealed two credit cards belonging to a 3rd party, who later claimed they were stolen from him weeks earlier at a bowling alley. Sample claimed he found the cards on a porch, but his nervous behavior suggested otherwise.
Now, with two warrants issued in less than six months, Sample’s legal troubles continue to mount in Faulkner County. Both cases remain under review by the prosecuting attorney’s office as police investigations conclude.
