Young Mother Re-Arrested After Allegedly Dealing Fentanyl While Having Young Child
Angelique Barton, a 22-year-old mother, was arrested on July 26, 2024, in Pope County, Arkansas, for trafficking fentanyl, which is a felony. The arrest took place as she was taking her child to her vehicle at her residence on East 16th Street.
Officers found Barton in possession of eleven blue M30 pills and drug paraphernalia after executing a search based on her probation terms. The drugs were discovered inside her purse, alongside aluminum foil with burn marks found in a trash can.
Barton, who is on probation, was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Pope County Detention Center.
The presence of her child during the arrest adds a poignant note to the case. Very disturbing circumstances if true.
The Drug Task Force collected the evidence from the scene, leading to charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
This incident underscores the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in local communities, where the roles of individuals as parents are intertwined with their legal troubles.
Please note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
