A massive fire broke out on January 24th, 2025 near Texarkana.
Over the afternoon on January 24th, Trinity Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire on Highway 237, just past the local grocery store. You can see photos of the dramatic scene below released by Mandeville Fire/Rescue.
Support Called In After Blazing Fire
Upon arrival, crews found 75 old powerline poles and 100 bales of hay ablaze.
The situation quickly escalated, requiring additional support. Mandeville, Genoa, and Bright Star Fire Departments responded to assist Trinity in combating the fire.
The combined efforts of the four fire departments are currently focused on containing the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Multiple fire engines and crews were on the scene, finally getting the area under control before it could spread to nearby areas.
