We might have to start eating bugs sooner than later!
According to USA Today, residents of Arkansas are seeing giant Cicadas coming into the state in what some authorities call an “invasion.” The cicadas have been underground for over 10 years.
Cicadas “Invasion” Already Being Spotted Aboveground
Arkansas is just one of 17 states that will see trillions of cicadas this year. The event is caused by a rare double brood incident.
While the bugs are normally underground as they have been for the last 13 to 17 years, they are finally coming above ground to mate and die.
Some are even calling the new event the “cicadapocalypse.”
