Arkansas history has just been made.
According to the University of Little Rock Public Radio, a case has been settled between Arkansas County and a cryptocurrency mining company in Dewitt, Arkansas. It’s one of the first of its kind reached after complaints against cryptocurrency companies by Arkansas lawmakers.
Arkansas Cryptomining Verdict Reached
Arkansas County has agreed to give the crypto mining company Jones Digital LLC a whopping $90,000 for “compensation”
On Wednesday, the county reached the agreement involving a consent decree.
The new judgment comes after Arkansas lawmakers regretted giving cryptocurrency companies the power to overrule local governments. They later passed a rare law reigning in crypto mining companies.
Crypto mining companies have come under attack lately involving noise complaints. Often leading to local governments taking action against the companies. Thankfully, it looks like clarification has finally been reached.
