She thought the bacon seemed strange. Now she’s telling people to beware!
Rachel Johnson says visited the Walmart Supercenter in Searcy on April 7, 2025, around 1:30 p.m. She bought two packs of Cinnamon Toast Crunch black label bacon for dinner. After checking the date, she claims the pork meat was months out of date.
“Super Slimy” Bacon Was Reportedly Months Past Date
When Johnson opened the bacon at home, she found it “super slimy” and checked the expiration date—January 2025.
“Holly cow!” Johnson posted in the “Speak Up Searcy” Facebook group. She couldn’t believe Walmart sold bacon expiring in just three weeks.
“That stuff isn’t cheap,” she lamented. Johnson shared her frustration.
She urged others to check expiration dates on bacon and all products before buying:
“So please folk’s check your expiration dates on any bacon or other products before you buy. I know I will be from now on out.”
Johnson plans to return to Walmart on April 8 to exchange the slimy bacon. She hopes for a smoother shopping experience this time.
The post, shared on April 7, sparked a conversation in “Speak Up Searcy” about food safety and store accountability.
