Searcy Police and Fire Departments each received $2,500 grant checks from Walmart on Tuesday at a presentation in the parking lot of the Walmart Distribution Center. Police Chief Steve Hernandez said this grant will be used to purchased lockers for digital evidence such as laptops and cell phones Battalion Chief Brad Morris from the fire department said their check would be used for things like batteries, the car seat program, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Director of Public Affairs, Michael Lindsey,IMG_3161 from Walmart’s corporate office said “At Walmart, giving back to our communities is really important and it’s part of our culture and there’s just no better entity to support and give back to than first responders. They are always at the top of our mind since they do so much to keep us safe.”
