A major incident unfolded early this morning as emergency crews responded to an apparent fire threat in a local nursing home.

Possible structure fire investigated at Oak Grove Blossom Nursing Home
At 5:50 a.m., the Mountain View Fire Department was paged to a possible structure fire at 706 Oak Grove Blossom’s nursing home. Three fire trucks and fourteen firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The crew arrived promptly to assess the situation.
Staff members worked to move patients out of the hallway where the smoke was reported. Meanwhile, firefighters began a visual inspection of the building. The evacuation proceeded without reported injuries.
Inspectors could not locate an active fire source after the building was deemed safe to enter. A melted conductor switch for the doors was discovered, which investigators believe produced the smoke and set the fire alarms off. The exact cause of the melt is not yet known.
The building was declared safe for re‑entry after the investigation. Fire alarms had been triggered by the suspected switch malfunction. Officials noted they had responded to a larger fire at the same facility in the past, but this incident was limited to the smoke issue.
