The theft charges filed
According to the affidavit, Strayhorn is accused of unlawfully taking leased, rented or entrusted property whose value is estimated between $1,000 and $5,000. Prosecutors say the alleged theft occurred prior to his arrest. Court records indicate the offense is classified as a theft of property.
The booking also lists alleged theft of a firearm valued at $2,500, as well as alleged offenses involving emergency property or livestock. The affidavit notes these additional items are part of the same incident. Prosecutors assert these counts are separate from the primary property theft.
