Basketball players in Searcy have a brand-new place to hit the court.
The City of Searcy has officially opened the newly renovated basketball courts at Yancey Park, giving residents another modern recreational facility as the city continues investing in its park system.
The new courts are now open daily from sunrise until 10 p.m.
Located at 950 Skyline Drive, Yancey Park has long been one of Searcy’s most popular neighborhood parks. The improvements are part of the city’s ongoing effort to provide updated recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.
New Courts Ready for Play
City officials announced the courts are officially open and ready for public use.
Players can enjoy the new courts every day from sunrise until 10 p.m., providing opportunities for pickup games, league practices and family recreation during both daytime and evening hours.
The opening marks another milestone in Searcy’s continuing investment in parks and outdoor recreation.
More Than Basketball
Spanning 12.5 acres, Yancey Park offers a variety of amenities beyond the new basketball courts.

The park’s walking trail provides a scenic place for exercise, although bicycles are not permitted on the path.
Two Pavilions Available
Families and community groups can also reserve or use two park pavilions.
Pavilion #1
Located near the front entrance between the playground and park entrance, Pavilion No. 1 includes access to electricity, making it ideal for birthday parties, reunions and community gatherings.
Pavilion #2
Situated at the far end of the walking trail, Pavilion No. 2 offers a quieter setting surrounded by the park’s natural scenery. Electricity is not available at this pavilion.
Part of Searcy’s Growing Parks System
The Yancey Park improvements come as the City of Searcy continues making significant investments in recreation across the community.
Several major park projects are currently underway or nearing completion, including new athletic facilities, trails, playgrounds and additional recreational amenities designed to serve residents for years to come.
City leaders say investments in parks help improve quality of life while encouraging healthy outdoor activities for families and visitors alike.
Residents are encouraged to bring a basketball and check out the newly opened courts as Yancey Park begins a new chapter as one of Searcy’s premier recreation destinations.
