A Wynne man sentenced for possession of child pornography will serve eight years in federal prison, according to Jonathan D. Ross, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Tyler Ball was sentenced Thursday by Chief United States District Judge Kristine G. Baker to 96 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

Ball pleaded guilty on August 22, 2025, to a one-count Superseding Information charging him with possession of child pornography.

The investigation by the Arkansas State Police revealed Ball took sexually explicit photos of a 10-year-old victim in or around 2015. In January 2022, Ball sent Snapchat messages to the victim apologizing for what had occurred years earlier. The victim and the victim’s mother reported the messages to authorities.

Following a search warrant executed at Ball’s residence, investigators located a cell phone containing 14 images of sexually explicit conduct involving the victim.

The case was prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative. The investigation was conducted by the Arkansas State Police, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kristin Bryant.

Parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s online activity and report suspicious behavior to law enforcement.
