The 36th Annual Arkansas Big Buck Classic has been rescheduled for a February weekend due to forecasted inclement weather expected to impact Central Arkansas.
The popular hunting expo and deer contest was originally scheduled for January 23–25, but organizers announced the event will now take place February 6–8 at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds in Little Rock.

Founder Tommy Murchison said the decision was made with public safety in mind.
“The Big Buck Classic has always put the safety of our attendees, competitors, vendors, and staff first,” Murchison said. “We strive to ensure the best overall experience for our patrons, and the predicted winter weather would impact travel, participation, and enjoyment.”
Organizers closely monitored weather forecasts calling for possible sleet and snow, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions across the region.
The Arkansas Big Buck Classic is one of the Mid-South’s largest outdoor events, drawing more than 30,000 attendees annually. The three-day expo celebrates Arkansas’ rich deer hunting heritage and features antler scoring competitions, more than $100,000 in prizes, vendor exhibits, chainsaw carving demonstrations, kids’ activities, and interactive family attractions.
What began as a small local contest in 1990 has grown into a major regional outdoor showcase that attracts hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and families from across Arkansas and neighboring states.
Event organizers say all previously purchased tickets and entries will remain valid for the rescheduled February dates. Updated event information will continue to be shared through official event channels.
