The Director of the Cleburne County Public Library has been arrested following an investigation into the misuse of taxpayer funds.
Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division took 47-year-old Zackery Cothren into custody at his home on September 11th. Cothren faces felony charges of Theft of Property and Abuse of Office.
The investigation, launched in May at the request of the Sixteenth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney, found nearly $78,000 in misappropriated public funds. Cothren, who has led the library for 20 years, was released on a $5,000 bond.
