Russell Dickerson is co-hosting the Top 20 countdown this weekend on KWCK 99.9. Hear it Sunday, November 8, starting at 12 noon.
Dickerson is in this week’s Top 20 with “Worth Your Wild.” He and his wife, Kailey, are expecting their 3rd child next month, and he is working on his next album.
Baby #3 on the Way
The couple’s sons, Remington and Radford, have R names, but Dickerson says the new baby’s name may not follow suit.
“I don’t know if we’ll keep doing the initial thing. We’ve got Remy and Rad. I think that’s enough,” he said. “We’ll just pick one at random. God has selected a gender, and we’ve selected a name.” A gender reveal is expected soon.
His boys are counting down too. “Rad has a doll where he can pretend he’s holding the baby. But he wonders why we can’t have the baby now,” Dickerson said. “I think it’s gonna rock their world.”
And more kids after that? “Four seems feasible, and if we had a whoopsie daisy five… I’ve never met anyone who says they wish they had less kids,” he said. “I see us all gathered around the kitchen table when they have spouses.”
Honored by St. Jude
A couple of weeks ago, Russell and Kailey received the Angels Among Us award at the St. Jude Country Cares Seminar in Memphis.
“I was shocked to find out we were receiving that award,” he said. “We’ve always been lovers and supporters of St. Jude since I got started in country music.”
A Dream House and a Break
The Dickersons have been building a house for 2 1/2 years and hope to move in before the baby arrives. “It started as a renovation, and then as we started, our builder recommended we just scrap it,” he said.
After 12 years without a break, Dickerson is stepping away for family time. “We’re going to take some time off, until maybe around May,” he said. “I’m gonna have a record done before the end of the year, so we can have family time.”
