Recovery, hope and community will take center stage this Friday as the 5th Annual Searcy Recovery Picnic returns to Berryhill Park, bringing together families, recovery advocates, community organizations and local leaders for an evening of encouragement and celebration.
Hosted by the Searcy Police Department and presented with support from Crowley’s Ridge Development Council, the free community event is designed to remind those affected by addiction that recovery is possible and that no one has to face the journey alone.
The picnic is open to everyone, regardless of where they are in their recovery journey.

Organizers say the tradition symbolizes that every step in recovery matters.
Last year’s event included someone celebrating 40 years in recovery, and as the countdown continued, more and more participants joined the circle.
“The circle gets bigger every year,” organizers say, illustrating both the growth of recovery in the community and the hope available to others beginning their own journey.

Several community leaders are expected to speak during the evening, including representatives from local law enforcement and city government.
The event also provides opportunities for attendees to connect directly with organizations offering treatment, counseling, peer support and other recovery resources available throughout White County and surrounding communities.
