Hope Branch of Batesville Arkansas, a student at Arkansas State University-Beebe in Beebe Arkansas, has been named a 2026 New Century Workforce Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Branch is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is currently studying veterinary technology at ASU-Beebe.
The New Century Workforce Scholar program is a national scholarship initiative that supports students attending associate degree-granting institutions as they prepare to enter the workforce after completing a degree or certificate.
National Scholarship Recognition
The program is sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
More than 2,300 students from nearly 1,400 college campuses across the United States were nominated for the scholarship. Only 1 student from each state is selected to receive the honor.
Recipients are chosen based on academic achievements, leadership, community involvement, and their ability to apply knowledge beyond the classroom.
Future Plans in Veterinary Medicine
Branch, who is from Batesville Arkansas, plans to work in veterinary technology after completing her associate degree and hopes to later pursue a bachelor’s degree and doctorate in veterinary medicine.
“I want to work with shelter and rescue animals, and I have faith that I will end up where I’m needed,” Branch said.
National Recognition Event
The 2026 New Century Workforce Scholars will be recognized during the Phi Theta Kappa annual convention, PTK Catalyst, which will take place March 26-28 in Baltimore Maryland.
Officials with Phi Theta Kappa say the scholarship program helps provide opportunities for students to complete their education and transition successfully into the workforce.
