The Mountain View Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire early Monday morning near the Stone County Fairgrounds.

Fire crews were dispatched at 6:42 a.m. and arrived on scene at 6:48 a.m. to find fire showing through the roof on the kitchen end of the mobile home. Two fire engines, one brush truck, and 11 firefighters responded to the scene.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack and were able to knock down the main body of the fire. Crews then worked to gain access to the area between the mobile home’s metal roof and an additional roof structure built over it.

Despite ice covering the entire property, firefighters brought the fire under control by 8:19 a.m. Overhaul operations were completed, and crews cleared the scene at approximately 8:58 a.m. No injuries were reported.
