Lyon College has announced the promotion of Gina Garrett of Batesville to Vice President of Advancement, according to College President Melissa Taverner.

Garrett, a 1993 graduate of Lyon College, has served the institution since 1995 in a variety of advancement leadership roles. Her experience includes prospect development, grant writing, annual giving, alumni relations, and both major and planned giving initiatives. Before joining the college, she worked as a journalist for a regional Arkansas newspaper.
President Taverner praised Garrett’s long service and leadership, citing her deep institutional knowledge and commitment to the college’s mission and future growth. Garrett said she is honored to serve her alma mater at a higher level and support its expanding academic vision, including programs in liberal arts and sciences, dental medicine, and veterinary medicine.
Garrett is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and holds a certificate in fundraising management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. She also co-founded the Arkansas Chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement and was the first recipient of the national Margaret Fuhry Scholarship recognizing emerging leaders in advancement research.
