Mondelēz Expands CHIPS AHOY! Baked Bites Brookie Recall Due to Choking Risk

, , Leave a comment

Mondelēz Global LLC has expanded its voluntary recall of CHIPS AHOY! Baked Bites Brookie products sold in the United States, citing a potential choking hazard.

The recall expansion, announced December 30, 2025, adds one additional code date and two additional UPCs to the original recall issued December 24, 2025. According to the company, an incorrect mixing process led to the formation of small corn starch clumps in the baked brownie bite products. Due to their size and texture, the clumps could pose a choking risk, particularly for young children and elderly consumers.

The recall applies only to specific CHIPS AHOY! Baked Bites Brookie products with designated “Best When Used By” dates sold at a limited number of retail locations nationwide. No other CHIPS AHOY! or Mondelēz products are affected.

The company reports no injuries or illnesses related to the recalled products and says the action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. Consumers who have the affected products should not eat them and may contact Mondelēz at 1-855-535-5948, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which posts company announcements as a public service and does not endorse recalled products.
