The Arkansas State Police (ASP) has seized more than 775 pounds of illegal narcotics and arrested multiple suspects following a series of traffic stops across Arkansas in recent weeks.

On February 17, Troopers stopped a gray sedan on Interstate 40 in Crawford County. A search revealed approximately 45 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed packages. Passenger Jatorria Lewis of Memphis was arrested on felony drug charges. The ride-booking driver was released with a warning.
On February 16, Troopers located Gevonte Brown, 24, of Memphis, in Marion after a U.S. Marshals Service alert. Brown fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Authorities recovered 19 pounds of marijuana and two firearms, one confirmed stolen.
Earlier, on February 6, a stop on Interstate 30 in Hot Spring County resulted in the seizure of approximately 115 pounds of methamphetamine. The driver, Pedro Lorenzo Valdez, 45, was arrested on felony trafficking charges.
On January 29, a Trooper stopped a Sprinter van on Interstate 40 near Carlisle. Inside, Troopers discovered approximately 600 pounds of marijuana and 15 boxes of THC products. The driver, Kemal Malicbegovic, 44, of North Carolina, was arrested on felony trafficking and paraphernalia charges.
Arkansas State Police officials say proactive highway enforcement remains a key strategy in disrupting drug trafficking routes that pass through the state.
